How To Create A Binance Account In The Us

How to access Binance.com from the US

Silver Crypto

A short and simple introduction on how to access Binance.com from the US.

Are you one of the thousands that lost access to your funds on Binance before the restrictions were implemented? Do you just wish to day trade coins that are not on other exchanges? Or do you simply want to quickly buy some crypto and instantly withdraw to your wallet? Well this guide is for all of you.

To put it simple: Binance.com i s no longer accessible for US citizens after US regulators put pressure on the exchange to shut down access for Americans in 2019. To compensate for this restriction the exchange Binance.us was launched in partnership with Binance.com, but as a separate company.
Unfortunately, despite having the same name, binance.us does not offer nearly as many coins and tokens as Binance.com does. Because of this I saw the need to create this very short guide which explains one of the ways US citizens can access and trade on Binance.com just like the rest of us.

A quick note to the reader: In this guide you will find referral links to the exchanges and services I myself use and have used for years, and which I regard top quality. I advise anyone to always use referrals for crypto exchanges because simply put; you lose out on lifetime fee discounts not doing so. I know i did..

Step 1: Find a VPN provider you like.

The first thing you need is a VPN. A VPN hides your IP address by letting the network redirect it through a specially configured remote server run by a VPN host. This means that if you surf online with a VPN, the VPN server becomes the source of your data, wherever it may be located in the world. In essence this means that if this VPN is hosted in a country in Europe, the exchange will experience that you sit in this country, even though you really sit in the US.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that the VPN provider you use has a kill-switch ability which basically shuts down certain apps if the VPN were to lose connection. If this happens for any reason while you are online, the exchange may pick up your location.

VPN suggestion based on personal experience and the fact that it offers a kill-switch: Nord VPN.

There are several VPN's to choose from, but this is the one I have ended up using on a regular basis, even outside of cryptotrading. It is stable and very intuitive, and the phone app is by far the best one i have ever tried. I'm personally not changing provider anytime soon. The Kill-switch is also a must!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to regulatory issues Binance.com will no longer accept unverified trading!

If you are looking for Leverage/futures trading, as well as a super exchange for hunting crypto gems, Kucoin is the choice. This exchange is the overall best alternative to Binance.

Step 2: Create a Binance.com account

Activate whichever VPN you have chosen or already were using, and create an account on Binance.com using the below link. This link will give you a 10% lifetime trading fee discount when trading on Binance.

Binance.com

Binance.com is one of the biggest crypto exchanges there is and at the same time one of the cheapest with regard to trading fees. Also it contains several activities you can occupy yourself with in order to further grow your portfolio, such as staking and saving.

Step 3: Fund your Binance account.

You will not be able to purchase crypto directly with credit card on Binance.com due to the fact that you cannot (and don't want to) get verified as a US citizen. You can however transfer crypto from other exchanges or from your wallet to Binance.

The solution is therefore very simple:

  1. Create an account on FTX.US which is accessible in the US, has cheap withdrawal rates and have a fast verification system (Or another exchange if you prefer that).
  2. Verify your account according to FTX guidelines.
  3. Buy crypto using your credit card.
  4. Transfer crypto from your FTX wallet to your Binance wallet.

FTX.US is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange located in United States. This is the US version of the regular FTX exchange.

Step 4: Start trading

You are now ready to start trading and/or investing into cryptocurrencies on Binance.com from the US. I suggest you consider transferring the crypto you buy as long term investments onto your personal wallets where they cannot be touched by anyone but yourself. Your wallet your coins!

This is not financial advise, or advise for anyone to circumvent or break the rules/laws/ToS of your country or Binance.com, it is merely information on how some people choose to access Binance.com as US citizens. Accessing Binance through VPN as an American is against the Binance ToS and may result in loss of funds. However, if used properly reports indicate that this method works very well. Also some reports indicate that using the Binance app on a phone may flag the account for some reason. Take steps to protect your investments.

Good Luck and Happy trading!
